2026 Cinis Ardor Vitae Exhibition
A 2026 solo exhibition by Michal Plis navigating the friction of danger, human connection, and an unyielding passion for life.
This highly anticipated event promises to challenge your perception of abstract form, utilizing light and structure to guide viewers through a deeply moving story of psychological and physical survival.
Exhibition Statement
Enter a personal universe sculpted with light. Mount Waverley based abstract artist Michal Plis, founder of the Roundism Art Movement, presents his 2026 solo exhibition, Cinis Ardor Vitae. This new body of work interprets universal coherence through pure, edgeless forms, offering an immersive environment where pristine geometric structure and a profound human narrative converge.
Utilizing his neurodivergence as a high-value creative engine to see order within chaos, Plis balances strict structural precision with a narrative of psychological and physical survival. The gallery layout deliberately front-loads the intense, light-reactive red dualities of the Cinis light source.
Rooted in classical Latin, Michal’s abstract concept of Cinis evokes the metaphor of a red light source as a glowing layer of ash and embers. This striking visual state embodies the raw vulnerability, danger, and complex frictions within human connections. Yet, it simultaneously stands as a powerful testament to unyielding ardor, friendship, and a love for humanity creating things, including new life.
Serving as a gateway to Michal’s broader abstract universe, the exhibition seamlessly guides collectors beyond the Cinis, transitioning them into the other light sources of Candor (Yellow), and Caerulea (Blue).
Manifested through light-interactive paintings, a diverse selection of sculptures, and three dimensional reliefs that chart the journey from a constantly changing community into organized geometric order, these works function as vessels built to facilitate various states of light through the lens of the Roundism art movement. By balancing interpersonal friction against absolute structure, the collection provides a vital counterweight to the initial danger, ultimately releasing the viewer into a state of confusion and clarity.
